THE NEW YORK RIPPER 2

I’ve been really busy the last couple of years and there’s a lot to report, but the short version is that I may be the hardest working man in show business you’ve never heard of. Meaning, I’ve been slaving away on a TON of projects you haven’t seen yet. Also, I had a movie come out in November, which I wrote, which was another nice-guy flick for Lifetime I’m sure you haven’t seen, and there’s even a new one of those coming soon with my name on it (and four others that don’t)… and we’re all real excited around here about the flipside of my bizarre career in the arts, which is this pitch black motherfucker:

This is my new book. It’s a comic book. A GRAPHIC NOVEL, as they say. And it’s not for lovers of Lifetime films. For those of you who are “in the know,” yeah you’re in for a bloody treat from hell. For the rest of you, THE NEW YORK RIPPER was an extreme Italian horror film made in the early 1980s by a director who was notorious for putting his ID on screen an awful lot. Oh sure, he made a metric shit ton of movies about zombies and gates of hell and stuff… but when Lucio Fulci was allowed to go super street level and extra icky, things like NYR happened, and yeah I made a sequel to it as a fucking comic book. It’s finally coming out after years of work. It’ll be available from my super-fun pals at Vinegar Syndrome in a super-fun limited release. The reason only 1,500 copies are being printed is… well, when you read it, you’ll understand. That anybody would allow us to release this at all is a miracle probably. It’s one of the more twisted things you are like to encounter in your life. I’m not joking. It was hard to wash the blood off my hands from this one.

Um. That’s one of the nice scenes.

Look, it’s like this. I do everything in extremes, which means I strive for greatness at every stage. (Sheesh, really, Stephen?) So that means when I do a horror project, I fucking well DO a horror project. Nothing stops me from going all the way. Unless someone tells me not to. And they didn’t. Not this time. (They have before and it wasn’t pretty.) Wait’ll you see what insanity goes down when nobody tells The Klown Prince Of Darkness what to do, kids. It’s just nuts. The story picks up nine years after the events of the film, still in the eighties, but barely, in 1989, the year BACK TO THE FUTURE PART III came out.

What does BACK TO THE FUTURE PART III have to do with THE NEW YORK RIPPER 2?

Nothing whatsoever.

But they ARE both sequels, and, ermm… Alex drew this cool billboard in a scene:

Anyway, what was I talking about?

Oh yeah, really cool, totally gory horror comic book. Art by Alex Sarabia and Derek Rook. Colors by Diego Souza. I wrote it all. You should check the sumbitch out. We have a serial killer who quacks like a duck and a lot of cops trying to bring him down. And it’s really gory.

Also, I really like this one a lot. I got to be super creative and inventive with the story and did I mention I had FULL ARTISTIC CONTROL OVER IT?

Oh, and something else that’s been fun. The powers-the-be not only let me alone editorially on this book, but they also are letting us Eibon Press guys promote these new books of mine however we want, so it’s been fun designing the ads for them, like I used to do a long time ago. Like this:

I also threw together this creepy poster to promote the release and was taken way back to 2007-2008, when I did a whole book of fake movie promos to tell a cautionary tale of alternative Hollywood.

No, this film doesn’t exist. But the graphic novel does. Come and be washed in the blood, kids.

Order it on MAY 23, 2025 at eibonpress.com.

In fact, order two copies.

I have bills to pay.

Me, folding and signing each poster, just like a real rock and roller. Oh, and you get a cool sticker too, and some other stuff. My cat Korben is just out of frame, trying to get me to pet him…
