STEPHEN: "This was a web-based art and film retrospective series that I created in 2015 and which appeared from March through June of that year at DREAD CENTRAL. It was one of the first major projects I undertook during my recovery from a life-altering car accident in 2014, and it displays a lot of busywork I did, when I was stuck in a wheelchair and also starting BOTTOMFEEDER, which laid the groundwork for Eibon Press. My goal was to do some cool new movie posters in the style of my book SHOCK FESTIVAL, to celebrate some of my favorite films, from BLOOD BEACH to SORCERER. I really had fun with this and, like my Halloween-For-Christmas movie blogs of the same year, it all helped to keep me focused on what is best in life. RETRO 13 was a big hit with readers and fans that year, and even the creators and stars of the films I championed. William Friedkein himself wrote me at Twitter to thank me for my art of SORCERER and told me he thought it was "great." Cherie Currie of the runaways and star of WAVLELENGTH also wrote me a couple of times, expressing her thanks for what I wrote about that film, which has never actually been released since it was on VHS. The series is still out there and you can see all 13 (plus ONE) installments at DREAD."
